UNEARTH Frontman Gets Animated For 'MK Ondergrond' Interview (Video)
September 8, 2012"MK Ondergrond" (meaning "Underground" in Afrikaans) conducted an interview with vocalist Trevor Phipps of Massachusetts metallers UNEARTH at this year's Wacken Open Air festival, which took place August 2-4 in Wacken, Germany. You can watch the chat below (Note: The intro is in Afrikaans, but the interview was conducted in English).
"MK Ondergrond" (Facebook page) is South Africa's first dedicated underground music variety show, hosted by a macabre crew of animated characters, featuring band interviews, video reviews, gig guides and the best in local and international underground music videos.
UNEARTH has confirmed a co-headlining tour with technical metal comrades BORN OF OSIRIS. This will be UNEARTH's first full U.S. tour since appearing on select All Stars Tour shows and their October trek in Southeast Asia. This tour is scheduled to begin on November 1 in Nashua, New Hampshire, with stops along the way in Bloomington, Illinois; Dayton, Ohio; and Lake Worth, Florida before ending up on the West Coast as part of California Metalfest VI with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, AS I LAY DYING and more.
UNEARTH's new album, "Darkness In The Light", sold 6,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 72 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "The March", opened with around 11,000 units back in October 2008 to land at No. 45.
"Darkness In The Light" was recorded at Zing Studios in Westfield, Massachusetts with producer (and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist) Adam Dutkiewicz. The effort was mixed by Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, TRIVIUM) from Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida.
